A huge advantage of growing sweet peppers under glass is that you can easily control cultivation and growing conditions and manage watering, for example.
We can support you and your crop in building the plant’s own resilience and the effective use of its self-healing capacity. This is done systemically: from the inside and the outside.
In our opinion, you can’t start early enough with strengthening your sweet pepper plants. For you, this is at the start of cultivation after planting your planting materials. But it’s even better if your propagator starts to strengthen the plants. During commercial growing, you will notice the effect of all the effort that is put into making the young plants more robust, stronger and more resilient. If the plants experience stress conditions during commercial growing, they will then cope better with these. Therefore, talk to your propagator about using our CE fertiliser ArgicinPlus.
This product contains urea nitrogen, but even more important are the ingredients silicon (orthosilicic acid), willow bark extract and colloidal silver. This combination ensures:

ArgicinPlus can be part of an ICM strategy with biological control
As soon as you start commercial growing, it is important that you further maintain or even scale up plant resilience. Our advice is to use our CE marked biostimulant SilicaPower. The silicon in this biostimulant strengthens the cell walls and epidermis of the leaf, making the leaves stronger, it improves the absorption and distribution of nutrients and minerals (including calcium, which reduces the risk of blossom-end rot), improves the internal transport of water and therefore reduces drought stress. It is known that when leaves are stronger (physical barrier), they are less susceptible to infections and to piercing pests. Later on in the growth phase, silicon not only strengthens the leaves, but also the fruit. The skin of the sweet peppers is literally stronger, which improves storability.
Recommended dosage/advice for use - SilicaPower in commercial growing of sweet pepper
You can administer SilicaPower via irrigation (dose from the A fertiliser feeder or separate fertiliser injector based on the aforementioned dose and depending on the size of the crop) or you can spray. If you spray, administer a dose of 0.5 litres/ha/week. For the best effect, it’s a good idea to regularly alternate drip irrigation with spraying. You can combine spraying SilicaPower with a plant protection application that you may already have scheduled. If SilicaPower is sprayed, you can skip drip irrigation during that week.
If during cultivation there is a high fruit load on trees in combination with lengthening days and abiotic stress factors, support and strengthen the crop for a number of weeks using our biostimulant Nutricin instead of SilicaPower. That is because, in addition to silicon, Nutricin contains willow bark extract, seaweed extract and 20 vegetal based amino acids. This combination of ingredients improves the self-healing capacity, root development and the vitality of plants. The silicon also strengthens the cell walls and epidermis of leaves and improves the absorption of nutrients and plant performance (root and shoot development, photosynthesis). The amino acids are essential for protein synthesis and stimulate plant physiological functions, such as sprouting, flowering, pollination, fruit setting and fruit development.
Recommended dosage/advice for use - Nutricin in commercial growing of sweet pepper
If you do decide to use Nutricin and to drip feed this, temporarily stop applying SilicaPower, as otherwise a double dose of silicon is given unnecessarily. Silicon is a trace element, do not allow this to accumulate.
After the longest day, when the days get shorter and the crop gets older, the vitality of the root environment often declines slightly. If that happens, we advise supporting the crop and strengthening it with 1 litre of SalicylPure per hectare per week. The willow bark extract in this product improves the plant’s self-healing capacity and root development. This improves the plant’s vitality and it becomes more robust until the end of cultivation. You can stop administering this two weeks before the end of the growing season.
Being able to supply the sweet pepper plants with plenty of clean water every day isn’t always a given. Stay ahead of problems with contaminated feed water, a basin full of algae or a dripper blocked with organic contamination. Every month, use our - 100% natural – product Blue Bac-1 to clear your basin or silo and to keep these clear. This product prevents a ‘green film’ from forming and organic blockages. Blue Bac-2 helps by forming a very smooth coating which cleans up mainly organic contaminants in your irrigation system and drippers.
Recommended dosage/advice for use Blue Bac-1
To achieve the best effect, Blue Bac-1 must be mixed thoroughly through the water. Therefore, add the product as far away from the intake point as possible. Thorough aeration using a Venturi or waterfall also improves the effect.
The most important support when using Blue Bac-1 is that you ensure that the basin water moves horizontally. Stagnant water is ideal for algae growth and it does not thrive as well in moving water. The bacteria in Blue Bac-1 will then do the rest.
Recommended dosage/advice for use Blue Bac-2
The use of Blue Bac-2 also has a positive effect on the root development of the plants and helps you to maintain the pH (stability) of your feed water.
If you use hydrogen peroxide as standard, read this tip!
The recommended products ArgicinPlus, SalicylPure and Nutricin cannot be used in irrigation water to which hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) or another product containing chlorine has been added. The ingredients in the recommended products are broken down in just five minutes. Blue Bac-1 and Blue Bac-2 are natural alternatives to H2O2 or other chemical disinfectants, such as hypochlorite. Contact our advisor to discuss our solution if you nevertheless wish to use hydrogen peroxide at the same time as ArgicinPlus, SalicylPure, or Nutricin.

Our fertilisers and biostimulants with natural ingredients help your plant to become and remain more resilient, more robust and vital. This makes your crop more resistant to the effects of the weather and other abiotic factors. This also boosts the plant’s capacity to absorb water and therefore the plant’s growth and your turnover.
