High-quality, healthy propagation material is the basis for high-yielding potato crops. Our silicon biostimulant with CE mark, SilicaPower, literally strengthens the potato crop during cultivation and protects it from stress conditions. The product stimulates root development, strengthens the cell walls and the epidermis of the haulm. The potato crop is more capable of absorbing water; newly formed potato tubers do not dry out as quickly due to the regulating effect of silicon on turgor in cells.
SilicaPower also boosts productivity. Independent research by Wageningen UR, among others, shows significant increases in yield of up to 10%. There is an increase in the number of tubers per hectare and an improvement in tuber sizes, with a significant increase in the number of tubers in sizes 25-30 mm, 40-50 mm and 50-60 mm.

In practice, different methods of haulm destruction are applied. Research has shown that a system that includes flailing is the best way of destroying the haulm, with little or no regrowth. The disadvantage of flailing is that the sap flow in the stems does not cease immediately.
To allow the remains of haulm to dry out as quickly as possible, we recommend spraying the products Argentum (colloidal silver) and Cuprum (micro-copper) over the flailed crop, preferably consecutively during one pass.
Argentum and Cuprum is a unique combination that reduces plant stress caused by flailing wounds. Less plant stress means a lower risk of spread of infection by bacterial disease.

The grading process has an impact on the physiological aging of seed potatoes. By atomising Argentum over the seed potatoes after grading, you boost resilience during the remaining time they are in storage. This way you maintain healthy and strong propagation material.

Maximum hygiene on a farm should be a standard operational procedure at every seed potato farm, both during cultivation and storage. Therefore, clean machines, packaging and cold store/storage units regularly. For this purpose, we have developed the ready-to-use cleaning product ArgiPura. This contains a mixture of soap and traces of colloidal silver and micro-copper. By cleaning, you create all the necessary conditions for storing your seed potatoes in a hygienic environment.
