Algicin

Algicin

A mix of stabilised natural salicylic acid + micro silver + orthosilicic acid (an absorbable form of silicon). Algicin is almost the same as ArgicinPlus, except that the urea has been taken out of the product and seaweed extract has been added.

Because of this 100 grams of algae per litre, significantly better growth is achieved when spraying plants with Algicin after frost damage. This results in a stronger crop that is able to continue to grow, for example, after frost damage. The salicylic acid stimulates the plant to produce more wound tissue, accelerating further growth in these areas.

Dosage

Between 250 and 500 litres of water/ha = 1 litre Algicin/ha.
Above 500 litres of water: 200 ml Algicin/100 litres water, therefore:

  • 600 litres water/ha = 1.2 litres Algicin
  • 700 litres water/ha = 1.4 litres Algicin

Spraying interval

Spray once every 7 to 10 days (can also be applied via LVM).

Advantages and tips

  • Algicin is an EC FERTILISER.
  • Algicin can be combined with neutral/alkaline agents.
  • Algicin means no residues, no growth inhibition, no re-entry restrictions and no safety term before harvesting.
  • For certain fungal infections, it is better to use a mix of Cuprum and SalicylPure rather than Algicin to enhance the plant’s natural defence against these specific fungi. Please contact your dealer or our office for personalised advice.
